Description
1. ES02VSTSA: An Early Professional Cluster Card
This card was designed by Huawei as a dedicated board for clustering high-end switches (especially S7706/S7712).
Dedicated: It provides four dedicated 16G ports, which can only be used for cluster connections between switches and cannot be used for ordinary business data transmission.
Limitations: The biggest limitation is that it does not support the S7703 chassis and does not support hot-swapping during operation. Once installed or replaced, the main control board must be powered off, which will cause some inconvenience for maintenance.
2. ES1D2VS04000: A Flexible Mainstream 10 Gigabit Cluster Card
This is currently a more mainstream clustering solution, using the more common SFP+ 10 Gigabit optical ports as cluster ports.
Universality: Due to the use of standardized 10 Gigabit interfaces, it is more flexible in cabling and connection, and can use various media such as optical modules and high-speed copper cables for long-distance or short-distance cluster connections.
Ease of Use: Its biggest advantage is hot-swapping, meaning that expansion or maintenance can be performed without system downtime, greatly improving business continuity.
Comprehensive Support: It is compatible with almost all S7700 series chassis, including the S7703, S7706, and S7712, broadening its application range.
