Description:
Composition: Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-iron-tungsten alloy. The specific composition includes a high percentage of nickel, balanced with molybdenum, chromium, iron, and tungsten, along with minor additions of cobalt, manganese, silicon, carbon, and other elements to enhance specific properties.
Physical Properties: The round bar has a density of approximately 0.321 lb/in³ and a melting range between 2415-2500°F (1318-1371°C). It exhibits moderate thermal conductivity and a low magnetic permeability of about 1.0002 at 200 Oersteds.
Mechanical Properties: The mechanical properties of Hastelloy C276 round bar include high tensile strength, typically ranging from 105 to 115 ksi (kips per square inch), good yield strength, and a significant degree of elongation, which can be up to 70%. These properties make the material suitable for applications requiring both strength and formability.
Corrosion Resistance: The alloy’s corrosion resistance is its most notable feature, providing excellent protection against a wide range of corrosive media, including acids, alkalis, and salts. It is particularly resistant to localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion, as well as to stress corrosion cracking.
Dimensions and Tolerances: Hastelloy C276 round bars are available in various diameters, with standard sizes ranging from a few millimeters to several inches. The bars are manufactured to tight dimensional tolerances to ensure they meet the specific requirements of various applications.
