Nickel Alloy Monel Metal Seat Ring for Automotive Exhaust Valves Engine Accessories Seals
A seat ring in a valve is a critical component that forms the sealing surface against the valve's closure element, such as the disc in a gate valve or the ball in a ball valve. Its primary function is to ensure a tight seal when the valve is closed, preventing leakage and regulating the flow of fluids.
Characteristics of Seat Rings:
Material: The materials for seat rings vary depending on the application. Common materials include metals like stainless steel, brass, bronze, and nickel alloys, as well as non-metallic materials like PTFE (Teflon), nylon, and other plastics. Metal seats are durable and capable of withstanding high temperatures and pressures, whereas non-metallic seats offer exceptional sealing at lower temperatures.
Design: Seat rings can be either integral, with the seat formed as part of the valve body, or replaceable, where the seat is a separate component that can be removed and replaced. Replaceable seats make maintenance easier because they allow for seat servicing without the need to replace the entire valve.
Sealing: They may also have a soft or hard seal design. Soft seals are made from softer materials that conform to the closure member, providing a tighter seal at lower pressures. Hard seals tend to be made from harder materials and are suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Surface Treatment: Many seat rings undergo surface treatments, such as stellite overlay, hard-facing, or coating with materials that enhance their wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or both.

Marine Engineering: For components exposed to seawater, including valves, pump shafts, and propeller shafts.
