Iron-nickel constant expansion alloys are a series of constant expansion alloys which can match soft glass and ceramics with different expansion coefficients in a given temperature range by adjusting nickel content. The coefficient of expansion and Curie point increase with the increase of nickel content. The alloy is widely used as a sealing structural material in the electric vacuum industry.

 

Nilo 42 Controlled Expansion Sealing Alloy W.Nr 1.3917 ASTM F30 UNS K94100

 

 

NILO 42, also known as UNS K94100/W. Nr. 1.3917, is a binary FeNi alloy containing 42% nickel.

 

It has a low and nominally constant, coefficient of expansion in the range of 20-300°C (85-570°F).
