Identify the required forming route

Include packaging and handling requirements when they affect receiving or replenishment arrangements.

A repeat order should preserve the accepted specification unless a change is intentional. Record changes in size, grade or condition so that the next operating comparison has a known starting point. Unrecorded changes make it difficult to determine why the behavior of a charge has altered.

Evaluate replacement batches consistently

A useful trial or replacement review identifies the media lot, operating period and relevant process conditions. Record the observations that led to replacement and retain representative inspection results. This creates a more informative comparison than considering purchase price or a single hardness value in isolation.
