EB Castings accepts enquiries for bearing steel balls with drawing-specified threaded holes. This page separates the bearing-steel option from stainless-steel enquiries and focuses on the hole and thread definition of the machined component. The finished part is supplied to an agreed specification, not assumed to meet a standard bearing-ball precision class simply because it is spherical.
Defining Ball and Hole Arrangement
Provide the ball diameter and the dimensions needed to identify the individual part. For each hole, show the location, orientation and relationship to other features. Where more than one opening is required, number the features on the drawing so that the hole pattern is unambiguous.
Specify the thread standard, nominal size, pitch and required engagement or thread depth
Distinguish blind holes from through holes and identify any additional depth requirements
Show any flats, counterbores, chamfers or other features only where required by the design
Identify reference datums and any positional or angular requirements for inspection
Material and Delivery Condition
Specify the bearing steel grade and required delivery condition. The bearing-steel family does not define a stainless product, a universal corrosion rating or a single hardness value. Any heat-treatment, hardness test and surface requirements should be stated for the finished machined part.
If a different material family is required, identify it clearly as a separate enquiry. Do not combine stainless steel and bearing steel under one undifferentiated material requirement.
Thread and Dimensional Inspection
List the required checks for ball size, thread features and hole layout, together with the records expected with delivery. If a particular thread gauge, acceptance specification or sample approval is required, include that request in the quotation package.
No load rating or machine compatibility is inferred from the reference photograph.
