316 stainless steel properties
316 corresponds to the domestic brand 0Cr17Ni12Mo2. It is a low-carbon stainless steel, and its welding performance is better than 304. Because stainless steel contains molybdenum, its resistance to pitting corrosion in marine and chemical industrial environment is much better than 304 stainless steel. Under high temperature conditions, 316 stainless steel has a wide range of applications when the concentration of sulfuric acid is lower than 15% and higher than 85%. 316 stainless steel also has good chloride corrosion resistance. Among them, variants of type 316 stainless steel include low-carbon stainless steel 316L, high-strength stainless steel 316N containing nitrogen and free cutting stainless steel 316F with high sulfur content.
