Introduction

N05500 copper nickel alloy combines the advantages of Monel's excellent corrosion resistance for 400 years, with greater strength and hardness. These amplification properties, strength and hardness are affected by the addition of aluminum and titanium nickel copper base and heat treatment for precipitation, commonly known as age hardening or aging. Under age hardening conditions, n05500 has a greater tendency to stress corrosion cracking than Monel 400 in some environments. The yield strength and tensile strength of n05500 alloy are about three times that of Monel 400. In addition, it can further strengthen the work before cold precipitation hardening. The strength of this nickel steel alloy is maintained at 1200 ° F, but the toughness is maintained. It is difficult to melt at 400 ° F. the melting range is 2400 - 2460 ° F.
This nickel alloy is spark resistant and non-magnetic - 200 ° F However, a magnetic layer surface can be developed during material processing. Aluminum and copper may be selectively oxidized during heating, leaving a magnetic nickel rich film. Pickling or bright pickling can remove this magnetic film and restore non-magnetic properties
