Description

Monel 400 bar is a nickel-copper alloy (UNS N04400) renowned for its exceptional resistance to corrosive media, high mechanical strength, and reliability in extreme environments. Composed of 63–67% nickel27–34% copper, and controlled iron (≤2.5%), this alloy forms a single-phase solid-solution structure that excels in resisting chloride-induced pitting, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and sulfidation in seawater, hydrogen fluoride, sulfuric acid, and alkaline solutions. With a tensile strength of ≥480 MPa and elongation of ≥35%, Monel 400 bars maintain structural integrity in temperatures ranging from cryogenic conditions (-196°C) to elevated thermal environments (up to 600°C), outperforming conventional stainless steels in aggressive industrial settings.

Certified to ASTM B127ASME SB-127, and NACE MR0175 standards, Monel 400 bars are ideal for critical applications such as seawater pump shafts, nuclear reactor components, and chemical processing systems. The alloy’s low magnetic permeability and resistance to biofouling further enhance its suitability for marine engineering and offshore platforms.
