Monel 400 strip is a nickel-copper alloy (UNS N04400) renowned for its exceptional resistance to corrosive media, high-temperature stability, and robust mechanical performance. With a composition of 63–70% nickel, 28–34% copper, and controlled iron (≤2.5%) and manganese (≤2.0%), this alloy forms a single-phase solid-solution structure that excels in environments such as seawater, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and alkaline solutions. Its low carbon content (≤0.3%) and sulfur (≤0.024%) minimize sensitization and intergranular attack, ensuring long-term reliability in critical applications like marine heat exchangers, chemical reactors, and nuclear fuel processing systems.
Certified to ASTM B127, ASME SB-127, and ISO 15156 (NACE MR0175), Monel 400 strip achieves a tensile strength of 480–550 MPa and elongation ≥35%, making it ideal for dynamic or cryogenic conditions ranging from -196°C to 600°C. The alloy’s high thermal conductivity (21.8 W/m·K) and low thermal expansion coefficient (13.9 µm/m·°C) ensure dimensional stability in cyclic thermal operations, outperforming conventional stainless steels in chloride-rich or hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) environments.
