1. Product Overview
Nomay Double-Sided Tissue Tape, also known as Double-Coated Tissue Tape or Tissue Mounting Tape, combines a white tissue paper carrier with water-based adhesive on both sides and one release paper liner.
It provides an adhesive layer between compatible materials for room-temperature paper bonding and packaging assembly. The single-liner format allows the tape to be applied to the first material while the remaining liner protects the second adhesive surface until final assembly.
2. Product Construction
Layer structure:
Release Paper / Water-Based Adhesive / Tissue Paper Carrier / Water-Based Adhesive.
The tissue carrier supports two adhesive coatings. One release paper liner protects and separates the adhesive surfaces in the wound roll.
After unwinding, one adhesive face is available for application while the other remains covered by the liner. The tape is double-sided even though it uses only one liner.
The release paper is removed during assembly. It is not part of the finished bond between the two materials.
3. Backing & Adhesive System
Carrier: Tissue paper.
Carrier color: White.
Adhesive system: Water-based adhesive.
Adhesive sides: Double-sided.
Release liner: One release paper liner.
The tissue carrier provides a paper-based support within the adhesive construction. Both adhesive faces must be compatible with their respective contact materials.
Water-based adhesive does not automatically mean water-soluble, water-activated or repulpable. Identify any such requirement when selecting the grade.
4. Available Specifications
Nomay tissue-tape family references:
Thickness options: 0.07 mm and 0.08 mm.
Common thickness: 0.07 mm.
Width range: 0.1–1080 mm.
Roll length range: 1–3000 m.
Master roll length reference: 3000 m.
Carrier color: White.
Peel strength reference: 600–1000 g.
Operating temperature category: Room temperature.
These figures are family references. The selected single-liner double-sided grade must be matched to the required thickness, dimensions and bonding performance.
Specify finished adhesive-coated tape thickness excluding the release paper. Identify liner thickness separately when it affects feeding, handling or overall roll dimensions.
Select width, thickness and roll length together. The family ranges do not establish availability of every possible combination.
5. Key Features & Buyer Benefits
Two adhesive contact surfaces:
Join compatible materials through a tissue-supported adhesive layer without applying liquid adhesive at the assembly station.
Single release paper liner:
Supports a straightforward sequence of applying the tape to the first material, removing the remaining liner and completing the bond.
Protected second adhesive face:
Allows the first component to be prepared before the second material is attached.
Paper-based carrier:
Provides a tissue construction for buyers specifying a paper carrier within the joint.
Custom slit widths:
Help match the bonding path and reduce unnecessary trimming.
White carrier:
Provides a defined carrier appearance where material color matters within the finished product.
6. Application Procedure
Identify both bonding materials and the intended service conditions. Prepare clean, dry surfaces without damaging printed, coated or delicate finishes.
Unwind the tape and apply the exposed adhesive face to the first material. Use even pressure and avoid stretching or wrinkling the tape.
Keep the release paper in place until the second material is ready. Remove it without touching the exposed adhesive, align the second material and press the joint evenly.
Test the actual materials and assembly method before production. Check adhesion, edge lifting, surface damage and performance over the required service duration.
Store unused rolls in protective packaging, away from moisture, contamination, direct sunlight and excessive heat. Follow the selected grade's storage and shelf-life instructions.
7. Application Industries
Relevant selection areas include paper converting, packaging production, stationery manufacturing and indoor lightweight assembly.
Examples for evaluation include paper-to-paper bonding, card component attachment and packaging component assembly.
Printed, coated or laminated surfaces require trials with the actual materials. A tape suitable for one paper finish may behave differently on another.
8. Application Scenarios / Problems Solved
Joining paper or card components:
The two adhesive faces contact the two materials, while the tissue carrier remains within the joint.
Preparing one component before final assembly:
The remaining release paper protects the second adhesive face after the tape has been applied to the first component.
Placing adhesive within a narrow bonding path:
Specify a slit width that matches the contact area and alignment requirements.
Avoiding liquid adhesive application at the workstation:
The pre-coated construction supplies adhesive in a defined strip, subject to compatibility with the required joint.
Controlling added assembly thickness:
Select the finished tape thickness and confirm that the measurement excludes the removable liner.
9. Performance & Operating Conditions
This product family is positioned for room-temperature use. No elevated-temperature operating limit is assigned to this listing.
The family peel reference is 600–1000 g. This figure does not establish identical peel performance on both sides or on every substrate. Define specimen width, test surface, peel angle, speed and dwell time before making numerical comparisons.
Evaluate both material interfaces under the intended temperature, humidity and loading conditions. Pay attention to edge stress and the required service duration.
Removal without surface damage is not assumed. Test removability when the tape is used on delicate or printed materials.
10. Comparison & Selection Guide
Compared with the two-liner version:
This version uses one release paper liner. After unwinding, the exposed adhesive face can be applied directly to the first material, while the remaining liner protects the second face.
Compared with single-sided tissue tape:
This product has adhesive on both faces and is intended for joining two materials. Single-sided tape provides only one adhesive contact face.
Compared with foam tape:
The tissue construction should not be assumed to provide cushioning or gap filling. Uneven joints may require another material.
Choose this version when the production sequence involves applying tape to one component first and exposing the second face later.
Choose a two-liner version when both adhesive faces need separate covers before application.
11. Technical Notes + FAQ
Q: Does one liner mean the tape is single-sided?
A: No. Both sides of the tissue carrier are adhesive-coated. The product uses one release paper liner.
Q: Which side should be applied first?
A: Apply the exposed adhesive face after unwinding. Remove the remaining liner when ready to attach the second material.
Q: Does the liner remain in the finished joint?
A: No. Remove it before completing the bond.
Q: Are 0.07 mm and 0.08 mm confirmed for every construction?
A: They are enterprise family reference options. Match the selected double-sided construction and thickness measurement basis in the order specification.
Q: Can custom widths and lengths be requested?
A: Yes. Provide the required thickness, width, length and tolerances as one configuration.
Q: Is this water-soluble tape?
A: Water-based adhesive alone does not establish water solubility.
Q: What if the materials are plastic, foam or fabric?
A: Provide the exact materials and surface details so the adhesive compatibility can be assessed.
