1. Product Overview
Nomay Double-Sided Glass Cloth Tape combines a woven fiberglass carrier with silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides for insulation attachment, component positioning and selected high-temperature splicing.
Common purchasing names include double-coated fiberglass tape, high temperature double-sided tape and silicone adhesive fiberglass carrier tape.
The reinforced carrier supports handling and dimensional control during assembly. Both bonding surfaces must be matched to the actual substrates and operating conditions.
2. Product Construction
Carrier: Woven fiberglass cloth.
Adhesive: Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides.
Carrier thickness: Approximately 0.10 mm.
Combined adhesive thickness: Approximately 0.08 mm across both sides.

The 0.08 mm adhesive figure is the combined coating thickness, not the thickness of each side. The individual side-A and side-B coating thicknesses must be confirmed; equal 0.04 mm layers are not assumed.
Finished thickness excludes removable release liners.

Selected constructions may retain insulation pieces or support positioning during assembly. Evaluate movement, edge lifting and creep under actual thermal and mechanical conditions.
Varnish and Resin Processing
Test the finished tape with the actual impregnation fluid and curing sequence. Adhesive layers may affect wetting, penetration and bond performance.
Layer or crossover insulation must be evaluated within the complete electrical design. An adhesive carrier alone does not establish the assembly's voltage or thermal class.
6. Electronics and Industrial Bonding
PCB and FPC Fixture Positioning
Selected grades may hold compatible parts during an approved process. Confirm component temperature, load, release method and contamination limits.
Silicone Foam and Pad Mounting
Evaluate adhesion on the actual foam or rubber formulation. Surface treatments, release residues, compression and recovery forces can influence lifting.
Film and Insulation Splicing
Confirm web tension, joint geometry, process temperature and downstream compatibility.
Flexible-Heater Assembly
The tape may position suitable insulation or component layers. It is not automatically a thermally conductive adhesive or a qualified heater bond.
Gasket Attachment
It may retain compatible gasket materials, but the woven construction does not establish a fluid-tight seal.
7. Temperature and Service Conditions
The available temperature-resistance range is 220–300°C.
Confirm the selected model, actual bond-line temperature, exposure time, heating cycles and mechanical load.
This range does not establish continuous operation at 300°C or load-bearing capacity at that temperature. A bond can move or creep before the backing shows visible damage.
The finished bond depends on both adhesive layers, the carrier and both substrates. Remove release liners before service unless a specific process requires otherwise; a liner retained during processing needs its own temperature confirmation.
8. Adhesion, Holding and Electrical Performance
Peel Adhesion
Evaluate side A and side B against their respective substrates using defined test conditions.
Shear and Creep
For mounting and permanent attachment, specify bonded area, load, load direction, temperature and duration. Peel strength alone does not establish holding power.
Electrical Performance
Confirm breakdown performance, conditioning and thickness for the complete tape. Working voltage and insulation-system suitability require assembly-level evaluation.
Mechanical Performance
Assess carrier integrity, edge fraying and dimensional change after the actual process. Woven construction does not automatically outperform every film carrier.
9. Liner and Converting Selection
Choose a single-liner or double-liner format according to the placement sequence and equipment.
Specify liner material, release force, thickness and which adhesive face is exposed first. Liner color is an identification choice, not the tape color.
For die-cut parts, provide dimensions, tolerances, feed direction, tabs and delivery format.
Low-fray or controlled-edge versions may be requested where fibers affect assembly cleanliness. Confirm the selected construction and converting capability.
10. Application Procedure
Clean and dry both bonding surfaces using compatible methods.
Expose the first adhesive face and apply with uniform pressure. Confirm alignment before removing the remaining liner.
Apply the second component without trapping air or distorting the part. Use the agreed pressure and dwell time.
Run a representative assembly through the complete thermal, chemical and mechanical cycle.
Inspect shifting, edge lifting, adhesive transfer and electrical performance where applicable.
For temporary positioning, validate the removal sequence and acceptable residue on both surfaces.
11. Comparison, Handling and Storage
Single-Sided and Double-Sided Glass Cloth Tape
Single-sided tape suits wrapping and exposed-surface protection. This double-sided construction is selected for bonding two surfaces.
Glass Cloth and Film Carriers
Woven cloth supports reinforcement and handling. Film carriers may suit thinner or smoother bond lines.
Supported and Unsupported Adhesive
The carrier can simplify handling and dimensional control. Selection still depends on actual adhesion and assembly requirements.
Optical and Sealing Applications
The white woven construction is not intended for transparent optical bonding or an automatically gap-free sealing interface.
Store in original packaging under the confirmed conditions and shelf life. Protect exposed adhesive and liner surfaces from contamination.
