Slips are essential tools in drilling operations. They securely clamp and suspend the drill string or casing string inside the wellbore. A slip assembly typically consists of the slip body, gripping teeth (buttons), handles, and connectors.
Our casing slips are specifically designed for large diameter casing strings. They feature a multi segment, pin connected structure – typically eleven or more segments – that provides a firm yet flexible grip. This design adapts well to casing outer diameter variations caused by wear, while keeping the assembly lightweight and strong.
Slips can be classified by:
Application – Drill pipe slips, drill collar slips, casing slips.
Structure – Three-piece, four-piece, long/short combination.
Operation – Power-operated (automatic) or manual.
The casing slips described here are manual, multi-segment, and optimized for large casing sizes.
Wide size range – Fits casing from 4½" to 30" (114.3 mm to 762 mm).
API compliant – Manufactured to API 7K specifications.
Multi-segment construction – Typically 9 to 37 interconnected segments for even load distribution.
Robust yet lightweight – Easier to handle on the rig floor.
Tolerant of casing wear – The segmented design accommodates outer diameter variations.
Circular button inserts – Provide secure gripping without damaging the casing.
