Spiral Sand Washing Machine
1.Product Introduction
The Screw Sand Washer is a high-efficiency mechanical device designed for washing, classifying, and dewatering sand and gravel. Its core component is a spiral blade assembly submerged in water. As materials enter the tank, the rotating blades continuously stir, tumble, and push the sand, utilizing the difference in specific gravity between the material and impurities to achieve separation. Cleaned sand is lifted by the spiral to the discharge outlet, while impurities like clay and dust are discharged through the overflow weir.
2.Application
The Screw Sand Washer is widely used in industries with high standards for aggregate quality:
Construction & Building Materials: Washing sand for construction and ready-mix concrete to meet strict silt content requirements for high-grade concrete.
Water Conservancy: Desliming sand and gravel materials required for dams, levees, and related projects.
Mining & Metallurgy: Cleaning ores such as manganese, iron, tungsten, and silica sand to improve downstream processing efficiency and prevent crusher or screen clogging.
Road Engineering: Providing clean sand and gravel aggregates for asphalt and roadbeds.
Sand Plants & Recycling: Working alongside sand-making machines for deep cleaning of manufactured sand (M-sand) or processing recycled sand from construction waste.
3.Working Principle
The operation of the Screw Sand Washer is based on a combination of gravity classification and mechanical agitation:
Materials enter the water tank from the upper section and are thoroughly mixed with cleaning water.
The motor drives the spiral blades on the central shaft via a reducer, rotating at low speeds (typically 20–30 rpm).
The rotating blades continuously stir, flip, and push the material, stripping and suspending clay, dust, and other impurities in the water.
Due to the difference in specific gravity, clean sand particles are pushed upward along the inclined tank by the spiral and discharged.
Impurity-laden wastewater naturally flows out through the overflow weir at the top of the tank, achieving solid-liquid separation.

Low Energy Consumption & High Efficiency: It features low power consumption and high throughput (single units can reach 10–300 t/h), ensuring low operating costs.
Strong Adaptability: Capable of processing various materials with particle sizes from 0–80mm, including river sand, manufactured sand, weathered sand, and ores, making it suitable for diverse environments.
