Product Overview
As networks push closer to the edge, the physical footprint and cost of outdoor infrastructure become critical factors. The Compact 20U IP55 Outdoor Cabinet is engineered to strike an ideal balance between robust environmental protection and lean, space-saving deployment. Specifically designed for tight outdoor spaces—such as small-cell 5G nodes, roadside units (RSUs), and smart city infrastructure—this enclosure delivers enterprise-grade features without the unnecessary bulk and expense of larger, over-specified shelters.
Optimized Footprint for Rapid Deployment
Featuring a slender H1200mm × W650mm × D650mm profile, this cabinet is purpose-built for sites where real estate is limited. It offers 20U of standard 19-inch rack space, providing ample room for network equipment, power supplies, and batteries without dominating the installation site. The cabinet supports flexible installation, allowing it to be floor-mounted or roof-mounted, while bottom-entry cable routing keeps the installation clean and protected from water ingress. Front-only maintenance access ensures it can be serviced easily even when placed in narrow or crowded locations.
Protection and Thermal Management
Rated at IP55, the enclosure provides a reliable barrier against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for diverse outdoor environments. The single-wall structure is constructed from 1.2mm galvanized steel (with 2.0mm load-bearing components) and features 20mm thermal insulation cotton. To combat heat buildup from active network gear, the cabinet can be equipped with an optional 500W AC air conditioner. This cooling unit includes an RS485 communication interface, allowing operators to remotely monitor temperature status, adjust settings, and receive alarms directly at the network operations center (NOC).
Physical Security and Customization
Security is integrated into the hardware. The enclosure features an anti-theft, three-point locking system and concealed inner hinges to deter unauthorized access. Inside, the cabinet is ready for customization with optional 220VAC LED lighting for night maintenance, an internal power socket, and an optional power distribution board.
