The MRT313 operates based on the thermopile effect and infrared radiation detection principle:

It integrates a thermopile sensor chip and a high-transmittance IR filter (optimized for 8–14 μm wavelength, matching the peak infrared radiation wavelength of the human body).
When the sensor is aimed at the human forehead, the thermopile chip absorbs the infrared radiation emitted by the skin surface. The absorbed energy generates a temperature difference between the hot and cold junctions of the thermopile, which induces a proportional Seebeck voltage.
The output voltage signal is processed by a signal conditioning circuit (e.g., amplification, calibration) to convert it into a precise body temperature reading.
