Features:
LMM-H03/04 gas flow sensor (hot-wire air mass flow) is one of the important sensors for electronic fuel injection engines. It converts the intake air flow into an electrical signal and transmits it to the electronic control unit (ECU). The circuit of the hot-wire mass air flow (MAF) sensor consists of a sensor, a control module, and the wires connecting them. The LMM-H03 sensor outputs a direct current voltage signal to the power control module (ECM), and the amplitude of this signal is proportional to the intake air volume of the engine.
The basic structure of the LMM-H03/04 hot-wire air flow sensor consists of a platinum heating wire (electrical heating wire) for sensing air flow, a temperature compensation resistor (cold wire) for calibration based on intake temperature, and a control circuit. The board that controls the hot-wire current and generates an output signal is composed of components such as the air flow sensor housing. The LMM-H03/04 bidirectional gas flow sensor is suitable for applications with high reliability requirements, such as medical or industrial gas flow applications.
LMMH03/04 is directly installed in the flowing medium and is highly sensitive to heat transfer within the micrometer range. This heat transfer is detected by the micro-processed silicon device, which is installed on the ceramic substrate with the shape of the sensing element already determined.
The functional principle of LMM-H03/04 is a thermal film anemometer, which is the membrane version of the hot wire anemometer. The heating element (heater) of the film is heated to create a specific temperature difference with the air. When the flow rate is zero, the thermal conductivity of the air causes heat dissipation.
When the airflow passes through, the heat dissipation increases gradually with the increase of the flow velocity. The sensing element can operate in a constant power and constant pressure mode. However, it is recommended to use LMM-H03/04 in the described constant temperature difference (CTD) mode.
In the CTD mode, electronic components can quickly detect any changes in thermal equilibrium and compensate for them by adjusting the power setting with the help of a heater. This enables very reliable measurement of gas flow within an extremely short time constant (at the millisecond level).
