1. Structure and composition
Bottle: Made of transparent or brown glass, cylindrical design, the capacity usually ranges from 5mL to 100mL. The brown bottle can avoid light and is suitable for storing light-sensitive liquids.
Dropper assembly:
Glass/rubber dropper: One end of the slender glass tube is pulled into a capillary tip, and the other end is equipped with a rubber/silicone head (detachable), and the amount of liquid droplets is controlled by squeezing.
Ground mouth stopper: The mouth of some dropper bottles is designed with frosted glass, which matches the dropper to ensure airtightness.
2. Features
Chemical stability: acid and alkali resistant (borosilicate glass), suitable for holding corrosive liquids.
Precise volume control: The tip of the dropper can release liquid drop by drop (about 0.05-0.1mL per drop).
Sealing: The rubber head or screw cap prevents liquid evaporation or leakage.
3. Common uses
Laboratory: reagent packaging, staining solution addition, pH adjustment, etc.
Medical: Packaging of medicines (such as eye drops, topical liquid medicine).
Industrial: Packaging of small-volume liquids such as essential oils and cosmetics.
4. Precautions
Avoid sudden cooling and heating to prevent glass breakage.
Clean promptly after use to prevent the dropper from clogging.
The rubber head may age due to long-term contact with organic solvents and needs to be replaced regularly.
5. Variant design
Plastic dropper bottle: light and resistant to falling, but poor in solvent resistance.
Graduated dropper: The bottle or dropper is marked with scales for rough measurement.
