In the manufacturing of disposable paper cups, "coating" is a key processing technique, which stands for extrusion coating or melt coating.
Purpose: To composite a thin plastic film on the surface of a paper substrate (usually food grade white cardboard).
Function:
Anti leakage: Paper itself has a porous structure, which will soften and leak when exposed to water. The coating layer plays an absolute barrier role, allowing the paper cup to hold liquids such as water, coffee, tea, etc.
Oil proof: prevent oil from penetrating paper from hot drinks or oily foods.
Enhancement: Provides a certain strength and stiffness to the paper, making it less prone to softening and deformation in hot beverage environments.
Heat sealing: The seam of the cup body and the bottom of the cup need to be heated to melt and bond the coating layer, forming a strong seal.
Fan shaped piece "refers to a flat blank in the shape of a fan that is cut from cardboard after coating treatment before being stamped into a cup body.
