MVI56E-MCMXT is a server-enhanced network interface module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module belongs to the ProSoft Series of network interface modules. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module features a single-slot 1756 ControlLogix compatible backplane, a 4-character display, scrolling, an alphanumeric LED display of the status and diagnostic data in plain English, support for RIUP (removal and insertion under power,) 10/100Mb Ethernet port for network configuration and diagnostics with the auto cable crossover detection. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module enables the Modbus Master or Slave connectivity to the Modbus RTU/ASCII modules. Each ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module port can be set as a slave or master. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module serves as an input/output device on the ControlLogix backplane, making the Modbus data look like an I/O data to the processor. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module is applicable in Logix-XT™ control panel, enabling it to effectively function in harsh environments.
 
The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module’s 4-character, scrolling, alpha-numeric LED display indicates the device version, the slave parameter/master port, the port status, and the fault information. The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module should be operated in temperatures ranging from -13 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (-25 to 70 degrees Celsius). The ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module features a non-volatile, industrial-grade Compact Flash card design for storing network and module configurations, enabling quick in-the-field module replacements by transferring the CF card. The add-on instructions and sample ladder logic are utilized for transferring data between the ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module and the processor ProSoft Configuration Builder software. The module features a Windows-based graphical user interface that provides simple network and product configuration. The ProSoft Configuration Builder offers a graphical configuration device for quick and easy manipulation of the ProSoft MVI56E-MCMXT Network Interface Module configuration files and also for the checking of the module’s diagnostic information.
