1. Connecting the Probe:

Ensure the ultrasound system is in standby or off mode.
Align the connector of the 7L4P probe with the probe port on the system, insert it smoothly, and twist clockwise to lock. Never hot-swap or unplug the probe while the system is on to avoid damaging the device.

2. Applying a generous amount of coupling compound:

Apply a generous amount of ultrasound coupling compound to the probe surface and the patient's skin to be examined.

Coupon compound removes air from between the probe and the skin, ensuring effective transmission of sound waves and is crucial for obtaining clear images.

3. Optimizing Image Quality (Critical Step)
Adjust the following parameters based on your needs:
Frequency:

For very superficial structures (such as skin, subcutaneous nerves, and superficial tendons), select the highest frequency (such as 10L or 14L).
For deeper structures, if the lower part of the image is unclear, lower the frequency (such as 7M or 10M) to increase penetration.

Depth:
Use the "Depth" knob or button on the control panel.

Adjust the depth just enough to show a small amount of tissue beneath the area you are interested in. Don't go too deep or you waste screen space and slow down your frame rate.
