Biocare FM-801 Fetal Monitor Printer Cover Fixing Shaft: This small but crucial component is crucial for ensuring clear, accurate, and uninterrupted fetal heart and contraction curves are printed. The core of the fixing shaft is to securely and evenly hold the printed paper. To install the paper roll, press the removable end caps inward to compress the springs. Then, thread the shaft through the paper roll and release the end caps, allowing the springs to securely grip the ends of the paper roll. Finally, place the entire assembly into the designated slot in the printer.

1. Paper Roll Support: This shaft is specifically designed to pass through the central hole of the thermal printer paper roll.
2. Tensioning: Its structure applies appropriate pressure to both ends of the paper roll, preventing it from sliding or shifting during rotation.
3. Smooth Paper Feed: By meshing with the printer's transmission gears, it rotates at a constant speed driven by the motor, smoothly feeding the paper beneath the printhead.
4. Print Quality: Smooth paper feed is essential for obtaining clear, undistorted, overlapped, or broken fetal heart rate and uterine contraction pressure curves. Improper function of the fixed shaft can cause paper feed jamming and skew, directly impacting clinical judgment.

1. Installing Printer Paper:
- Correct Orientation: Ensure the smooth, thermally sensitive side of the paper (usually brighter) faces the print head.
- Pulling Out the Appropriate Paper: After installing the paper roll, manually pull out a small section of paper so that it smoothly passes through the gap between the print head and the platen roller.
- Securely Secure: Ensure both ends of the fixed shaft are securely seated in the printer's support slots and that the paper roll rotates smoothly without resistance.
2. Daily Maintenance and Cleaning:
- Regular Cleaning: Use a cotton swab lightly dipped in anhydrous alcohol and gently wipe the shaft surface to remove accumulated dust and paper scraps.
- Check Spring Tension: If the spring tension is weakened, resulting in a loose paper roll or slippage, contact an engineer immediately for a replacement.
- Avoid Forceful Operation: Press and release the end cap gently, avoiding excessive force to prevent damage to the spring or plastic clip.
