Multi-Layer Co-Extrusion Cold-Applied HDPE Anti-Corrosion Tape Production Line
This purpose-built production line manufactures high-performance cold-applied polyethylene wrapping tape for buried pipeline protection. Widely deployed for oil-gas transmission, natural gas distribution, municipal water supply and industrial buried pipeline anti-corrosion projects across Middle East, Central Asia, Russia and Africa, this turnkey pipeline tape machinery integrates every critical production phase: PE base film co-extrusion, surface pre-treatment, slot-die butyl adhesive coating, tension-controlled slitting and multi-station rewinding.
Adopting proven multi-layer co-extrusion technology, the line processes HDPE, LDPE and butyl-based adhesive compounds to produce uniform cold-applied anti-corrosion wrapping tape with stable peel strength, high mechanical impact resistance and long-term chemical durability. It delivers 160-200kg/h stable output with maximum finished tape width of 1000mm.
Production Process
1. PE Base Film Co-Extrusion
This line uses high-grade HDPE and LDPE as base raw materials. Polymer pellets are fully melted and plasticized by high-efficiency SJ-75×30 single-screw extruder, extruded through 1000-type precision die, then shaped and cooled by multi-roller tape-casting units. This automated co-extrusion workflow delivers consistent base-film thickness (0.2-1mm), excellent surface flatness and strong inter-layer bonding.
2. Corona Treatment & Slot-Die Adhesive Coating
Before adhesive lamination, the PE substrate receives dedicated surface modification to boost surface energy and secure firm bonding between butyl adhesive and polyethylene backing. The integrated slot-die coating unit evenly applies high-performance butyl rubber adhesive compound with adjustable coating thickness 0.1-0.5mm onto single or double sides of PE film.
3. Tension-Controlled Slitting & Multi-Station Rewinding
In the final production stage, the coated master roll passes through automatic constant-tension slitting equipment, precisely cut to custom commercial widths up to maximum 1000mm. Processed material is fed into high-speed multi-station rewinding unit to produce neatly wound finished tape rolls ready for packaging and export distribution.
