Its primary mechanism involves using rotating blades to cut molten plastic directly at the die face, followed by the rapid cooling and conveyance of the resulting pellets through a high - speed rotating water ring.
This method is particularly well - suited for processing thermoplastic materials such as PE, PP, EVA, and ABS, especially those materials characterized by high viscosity or a tendency for extruded strands to break easily.
Core Process Workflow
Water - ring pelletizing lines are highly integrated systems. A typical production workflow proceeds as follows:
Raw Material Compounding/Extrusion → Screen Filtration → Die Head (Multi - hole Die Plate) → Water - Ring Pelletizer → Centrifugal Dewaterer → Vibrating Screen → Storage Silo
Key Component Functions:

Technical Core and Selection Recommendations
When configuring a water - ring pelletizing line, the following three core factors directly impact the quality of the resulting pellets:
Contact Precision Between Cutter Blades and Die Face:
This is a key technical challenge in water - ring pelletizing. Advanced equipment typically employs pneumatic or spring - loaded automatic blade - feeding systems to ensure the cutting blades maintain constant, uniform pressure against the die face. If the pressure is insufficient, the pellets may fuse together into a continuous sheet; conversely, if the pressure is excessive, accelerated wear of the die face will occur.
Circulating Water Temperature Control:
If the water temperature is too low, it can cause material buildup and clogging at the die head (known as "die - face freezing"). Conversely, if the water temperature is too high, the pellets will not cool sufficiently and will be prone to sticking together.
