Pump Mechanism:
A plastic soap pump typically consists of several key components:
Pump Head: This is the part that users press down to dispense soap.
Dip Tube: A tube that extends from the pump head into the soap reservoir, allowing the soap to be drawn up into the pump mechanism.
Closure or Collar: The top part of the pump that screws onto the bottle or container to secure the pump in place.
Dispensing Action:
When the user presses down on the pump head, it creates a vacuum or negative pressure inside the pump mechanism.
This vacuum pulls the liquid soap up through the dip tube into the pump chamber.
As the user continues to press down, the soap is forced out through an outlet nozzle or opening at the top of the pump head.
One-Way Valve:
Many soap pumps include a one-way valve mechanism that helps control the flow of soap. This valve opens to allow soap to be drawn into the pump chamber and closes to prevent the soap from flowing back down into the bottle.
Spring Mechanism:
Inside the pump mechanism, there is often a spring that helps return the pump head to its original position after it is released. This prepares the pump for the next dispensing action.
Sealing and Hygiene:
The pump head is designed to create a seal when not in use, preventing air from entering the bottle and maintaining the freshness and consistency of the soap inside.
This sealing mechanism also helps maintain hygiene by reducing the risk of contamination or spillage.
