The ABB TU847 is a handy passive module termination unit (MTU) designed specifically for redundant setups with the CI840/CI840A field communication interfaces—perfect for industrial systems that need reliable backup. It’s built to mount on a standard DIN rail, with a latching device that keeps it locked in place and grounded for safety.
What makes it practical? It comes with all the connections you need: power supply, electrical ModuleBus, two ports for CI840/CI840A modules, plus two PROFIBUS connections and two service tool ports for easy maintenance. You can even tweak the station address (from 0 to 99) using the two rotary switches on the unit—no complicated programming required. If you need an optical ModuleBus connection, just hook up a TB842 port via the TB806 adapter.
