The AMC8 200-550-005-112 is a feature-rich, highly reliable 8-channel analog monitoring card designed for machine protection and condition monitoring applications in various industrial settings. This standard version card is specifically engineered for rack-mounted machine monitoring and protection systems and must be used in conjunction with the IOC8T input/output card to form a complete 8-channel temperature and process monitoring solution.
The AMC8 analog monitoring card installs at the front of an ABE04x or ABE056 rack, while the IOC8T input/output card mounts at the rear of the rack. The two cards connect directly via connectors on the rack backplane. The card supports independent configuration via an RS-232 serial port and can also be centrally managed by a CPUx card in the rack via the VME bus.

This model is the only multi-channel card that simultaneously supports thermocouples, RTDs, and current/voltage process signals. It features high integration with eight channels, supports hot-swapping, and combines multi-level alarming with transmitter output capabilities. Suitable for the vast majority of temperature monitoring applications, it offers flexible scalability for diverse industrial requirements.
Due to limited space available for the compressor skid at an oil and gas refining complex, AMC8 modules were selected to monitor compressor bearing temperatures, seal medium temperatures, and cooling water temperatures.
These modules ensure stable, long-term operation in compliance with Class 2 vibration standards and feature four integrated relays for local audible and visual alarms. Additionally, they offer an automatic bypass function for abnormal temperature readings, allowing critical shutdown interlocks to be disabled during maintenance to ensure continuous production.
