PFA-Lined Butterfly Valves

PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) Lining:

  • Material Properties:

PTFE-Lined Butterfly Valves

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) Lining:

  • Material Properties:

    • PTFE is a well-known fluoropolymer known for its exceptional chemical resistance and low friction surface.
    • It is highly non-reactive, making it ideal for handling aggressive chemicals.
    • PTFE can operate at temperatures up to approximately 204°C (400°F).

  • Applications:

    • Used extensively in chemical processing, food and beverage industries, pharmaceuticals, and water treatment plants.
    • Ideal for applications requiring clean and sterile conditions due to its non-stick, non-contaminating properties.

  • Advantages:

    • Excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals.

    • Good thermal stability within its operational temperature range.

Comparison and Selection

  • Chemical Resistance:

    • Both PFA and PTFE offer excellent chemical resistance, but PFA can handle slightly more aggressive conditions and higher temperatures than PTFE.

  • Temperature Range:

    • PFA can withstand higher temperatures (up to 260°C) compared to PTFE (up to 204°C).

  • Mechanical Strength:
