Product Description:
Our AA Grade 100% Polyester Filament FDY Recycled Knitting Yarn is a high-quality, eco-friendly yarn designed for superior performance in knitting applications. Made from 100% recycled polyester, this yarn offers excellent durability, softness, and color consistency while supporting sustainable textile production.
The manufacturing process is a marvel of modern engineering and sustainability:
Collection & Sorting: Used PET bottles are collected and meticulously sorted by color.
Cleaning & Flaking: The sorted bottles are washed, sterilized, and crushed into small flakes.
Processing: These flakes are then melted down. Through a chemical or mechanical recycling process, they are transformed into recycled polyester chips (rPET chips).
Spinning & Drawing (FDY Process): The rPET chips are melted and extruded through a spinneret to form filaments. These filaments are immediately fully drawn—heated and stretched to align the polymer molecules. This crucial step gives FDY its signature strength, smoothness, and dimensional stability.
Winding: The finished yarn is wound onto bobbins, ready for shipping and use in various textile applications.
