Custom-Manufactured Hydro-Turbine Vacuum Breaker Valve for Hydropower Plants
During load rejection or rapid shutdown of hydro-turbine units, water flow in spiral case and pressure pipeline drops sharply, creating internal negative-pressure vacuum. Excessive vacuum may cause spiral-case shell collapse, pipeline deformation, seal damage and other major equipment accidents.
The vacuum breaker valve is a dedicated anti-vacuum safety device. When internal pressure drops to preset negative-pressure threshold, the valve opens automatically to inject outside air, quickly eliminating vacuum. When pipeline pressure returns to positive pressure, the valve closes tightly to avoid water spouting out, ensuring safe operation of water-conveyance system.
We deliver tailor-made vacuum breaker valve solutions strictly based on customer drawings, nominal diameter, actuation opening pressure, flange standard and actual site installation conditions.
