Water-conducting Preloading Mechanism for Hydropower
The water-conducting preloading mechanism is an indispensable supporting component of hydro-turbine wicket-gate mechanism. It is installed together with guide vane levers, bushings, connecting links and control ring assemblies. Its core function is to exert balanced pre-compression force on each transmission joint of the guide-vane operating system, offset assembly gaps, and restrain joint looseness induced by water hammer impact, unit vibration and cyclic alternating loads during continuous operation.
Without reliable pre-loading, the guide-vane transmission system will suffer loose joints, position offset, guide-vane clamping failure, abnormal mechanical knocking, aggravated seal wear, increased leakage, and even broken shear pins, which will bring huge hidden dangers to unit safety and raise maintenance costs and unplanned downtime losses.
