Manufacturing Process Overview

The core process is Reaction Bonding: Mixing SiC micro-powder with carbon source → Mold pressing or Isostatic pressing (forming the green body with grooves/holes) → CNC precision grinding to near-net shape → High-temperature silicon infiltration reaction sintering → Precision grinding of surfaces and special groove → CMM inspection and hole verification → Cleaning and packaging.

Usage Instructions

  1. Installation Preparation: Before installation, clean the flange and mating surfaces to ensure they are free of foreign objects. Check the fit clearance between the through-holes and bolts.

  2. Fastening Procedure: During installation, use a torque wrench and tighten bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to avoid excessive unilateral stress. Using high-temperature gaskets is recommended.

  3. Material Pairing: Best performance is achieved when paired with high-strength, high-temperature materials like ceramics or Inconel alloys.

  4. Maintenance Note: If sticking occurs during disassembly, do not force it with hammer blows. Try slightly heating the flange to utilize its low thermal expansion for separation.

  • Q: What is the main difference between a Silicon Carbide flange and a Zirconia flange?
    A: The main differences lie in thermal conductivity and temperature resistance. Silicon Carbide has excellent thermal conductivity, making it a great heat dissipation material, and its maximum use temperature (1550°C) is much higher than Zirconia (approx. 1100°C). However, Zirconia generally has higher fracture toughness at room temperature.

  • Q: Can the central special-shaped groove be made into other non-standard shapes?
    A: Yes. With our strong CNC machining capabilities, we can customize various complex special-shaped grooves according to your drawings, such as D-shapes, squares, polygons, or specific spline grooves.

  • Q: Will this flange disc gall or seize with connecting bolts at high temperatures?
    A: If directly connected with common metal bolts, there is a risk of diffusion bonding at extremely high temperatures. We strongly recommend using high-temperature alloy bolts配合 (combined with) specialized anti-galling coatings or ceramic washers for high-temperature applications.
