EN10219-1 EN10219-2 Cold Formed Welded Structural Hollow Sections of Non-Alloy and Fine Grain Steels
Part 1: Technical delivery condition
Part 2: Tolerances, Dimensions and Sectional Properties
Structural hollow section manufacturing process:
Structural hollow sections are manufactured by electric welding or submerged arc welding without subsequent heat treatment. Hollow sections manufactured by a continuous process shall not incude the welds used to join the lengths of strip prior to forming the hollow section, except that for helically welded submerged arc-welded (SAW) hollow sections, such welds shall be permitted when tested in accordance with 9.4.3.0 EN10219-1, EN10291-2.
Delivery conditions:
The hollow sections are delivered cold formed without subsequent heat treatment except that weld seam maybe in the as welded or heat treated condition
NOTE: For SAW hollow sections above 508 mm outside diameter it may be necessary to perform a warm shaping operation, which does not affect the mechanical properties, in order to meet the out-of-roundness tolerance requirements.
Suitability for hot dip galvanization:
The products are suitbale for hot dip galvanization.
TABLE 1 Tolerances
| Symbol | Unit | Definition |
| B | mm | Nominal length of side of square hollow section.Nominal length of the shorter side of a rectangular hollow section |
| C1/C2 | mm | Length of corner region of a square or rectangular hollow section |
| Dmax/Dmin | mm | The maximum and minimum outside diameter of a circular hollow section measured in the same plane |
| H | mm | Nominal length of the longer side of a rectangular hollow section |
| M | Kg/m | Mass per unit length |
| T | mm | Nominal thickness |
| O | % | Out-of-roundness |
| T | mm | Nominal thickness |
| V | mm | Total measured twist |
