BFe10-1-1 seamless copper-nickel condenser tube is a Cu-Ni-Fe-Mn alloy tube designed for heat-transfer service in condensers and heat exchangers, especially where clean seawater, brackish water, or mildly polluted cooling water must be handled with stable corrosion resistance and reliable tube integrity.

Under the current Chinese product system, the correct primary manufacturing standard for this product is GB/T 8890-2015, Seamless copper alloy tube for condenser and heat-exchanger. The widely cited ASTM B359 / ASME SB-359 standards are for integral finned enhanced tubes, not for plain seamless condenser tube, so they should only be referenced when the tube surface is intentionally enhanced.

    The BFe10-1-1 / C70600 composition is centered on Ni 9.0-11.0%, Fe 1.0-1.8%, Mn up to 1.0%, balance copper. This alloy balance is the reason it remains one of the standard choices for marine and condenser tubing rather than general-purpose brass.
  • Stable mechanical profile in annealed tube form
    For annealed C70600 tube, published values are approximately 44 ksi tensile strength, 16 ksi yield strength, and 15% elongation in tube temper data, which gives a practical balance between tube expansion workability and in-service strength.
  • Moderate thermal conductivity with better seawater durability than ordinary brass
    C70600 is published with about 9% IACS electrical conductivity, specific gravity 8.94, and modulus of elasticity 18,000 ksi, showing the classic tradeoff of copper-nickel condenser alloys: lower conductivity than brass but stronger resistance to seawater-side corrosion and erosion.
  • Good fabrication and maintenance compatibility
    Published fabrication data rate C70600 as excellent for gas-shielded arc welding and excellent for butt welding, which is valuable for tube sheet work, repair, and system integration.
  • Proven suitability for condenser service
    The Copper Development Association lists condenser components among the typical uses of 90/10 copper-nickel and identifies corrosion resistance as a principal reason for selection.

Concern: Is the quoted standard technically correct for a plain condenser tube?
Yes. For a plain seamless condenser tube, the correct primary product standard is GB/T 8890-2015. If the buyer asks for an integral finned or enhanced-surface tube, then ASTM B359 / ASME SB-359 becomes relevant. This distinction prevents specification mismatch during technical review and tender comparison.
Concern: Is BFe10-1-1 the right alloy for seawater-cooled condenser systems?
BFe10-1-1 corresponds to UNS C70600 / CuNi10Fe1Mn, the classic 90/10 copper-nickel condenser alloy. Current alloy references explicitly associate it with condenser service and salt-water corrosion resistance, making it an appropriate engineering choice where chloride-bearing cooling media and long service life matter.

ASTM ASTM B111/B111M is the common ASTM route for seamless condenser and heat-exchanger copper alloy tube; ASTM B359/B359M applies only to integral finned enhanced tube.
ASME ASME SB-111 / SB-359 are the corresponding ASME boiler and pressure-vessel material routes.
EN Equivalent alloy designation is CuNi10Fe1Mn / CW352H; condenser / heat-exchanger tube references commonly appear under EN 12451 / EN 12452, while general seamless round tube appears under EN 12449.
GOST Common Russian equivalent is МНЖМц10-1-1, used for heat-exchange copper-nickel tube references.
JIS Japanese procurement often references the corresponding 90/10 Cu-Ni family grade by equivalent chemistry rather than the Chinese designation itself.
