How an Electric Contact Manometer Works
An electric contact pressure gauge operates on a simple, reliable principle:
Pressure Measurement: System pressure moves the Bourdon tube and pointer as in a standard gauge.
Electrical Activation: The pointer shaft is linked to one or more miniature switches. When the pointer reaches a pre-set pressure value (e.g., 0.4MPa for "Pump Off"), it physically activates the switch.
Circuit Control: The switch opens or closes an electrical circuit connected to it (e.g., cutting power to a pump motor, activating a warning light, or sounding an alarm).
Visual Confirmation: The operator can always see the current pressure on the dial and the position of the set-point pointers.
