Product Introduction
Ethylene Carbonate (EC), CAS 96-49-1, molecular formula C₃H₄O₃, is a highly polar, low-toxic, and eco-friendly cyclic carbonate. This versatile compound appears as white crystals at room temperature (transforming to a colorless transparent liquid above 35℃) with a core purity of ≥99.9%. Characterized by strong solubility, high dielectric constant, and excellent chemical stability, EC serves as a fundamental raw material in lithium battery technology and finds extensive applications across fine chemical industries and polymer synthesis.
EC demonstrates superior solubility characteristics, mixing readily with most organic solvents while efficiently dissolving lithium salts and various polymers. Free from phthalate toxicity, it offers easy processing and convenient storage and transportation. As a key solvent component, EC facilitates the formation of stable battery SEI films, enhancing lithium battery safety and cycle life. Additionally, it functions as a synthetic intermediate, decarbonizer,  making it suitable for lithium battery electrolytes, polymer spinning,extile auxiliaries, and related industrial applications.
