2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate (2-EHN) is a highly effective diesel fuel cetane improver widely used in diesel fuel formulations to enhance ignition quality and combustion efficiency. By increasing the cetane number of diesel fuel, 2-EHN shortens ignition delay, promotes more complete combustion, improves cold-start performance, reduces engine noise, and lowers exhaust emissions.
As a cost-effective fuel additive, 2-EHN can significantly improve fuel performance without requiring any modification to existing diesel engines or fuel systems. It is commonly applied in refinery blending, premium diesel fuels, biodiesel blends, and fuel additive packages.
