FLOWSERVE Bowl Assembly (also referred to as bowl unit, stage bowl, or simply bowl) serves as the primary hydraulic stage within a multi-stage centrifugal pump. Each individual bowl houses an impeller, diffuser vanes or volute channels, and a pressure-rated bowl casing that channels fluid from one stage outlet to the next stage inlet. In both vertical turbine and horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump configurations, the bowl assembly constitutes the essential pumping building block — a series of stacked bowls produces the cumulative discharge head specified for the application.
The bowl assembly is required to preserve accurate hydraulic dimensions under elevated pressure conditions, withstand deterioration from abrasive or chemically aggressive media, and maintain dependable inter-stage sealing. Typical failure patterns comprise erosive wear on impeller and bowl flow paths, internal surface corrosion, crack formation due to cyclic pressure loading, and degradation at the shaft sleeve and stuffing box zones.
Our aftermarket FLOWSERVE bowl assemblies are produced through FARO 3D laser scanning reverse engineering to replicate the original geometry in full, encompassing impeller flow passages, diffuser channels, bowl internal diameter, and flange specifications. Each unit is manufactured to match OEM standards precisely, accompanied by complete material traceability and quality documentation.
