Quartz glass is an acidic material. Except for hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, it is inert to any other acid and is a very good acid-resistant material. It has better chemical stability than opaque quartz glass, is non-hygroscopic and non-weathering.

Quartz glass has high dielectric strength and low conductivity. Even at high temperature, high pressure and high frequency, it maintains high dielectric strength and resistance, with almost no dielectric loss in the applied frequency band, making it an excellent high temperature dielectric insulation material.

Quartz glass has unique optical properties. It can transmit both the far-ultraviolet spectrum (making it an excellent choice for all UV-transmitting materials) and visible light with near-infrared spectrum. It features high temperature resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion, good chemical thermal stability, with minimal bubbles, streaks, uniformity, and birefringence comparable to general optical glass.

The coefficient of thermal expansion of quartz glass is small, only one-twelfth to one-twentieth of ordinary glass. Standard testing involves burning the specimen to 1200 degrees Celsius and then casting it sharply into cold water repeatedly more than three times without cracking.

Quartz glass mechanical properties are better than conventional glass and ceramics, but it has poor brittleness. The theoretical calculated strength of quartz glass is very high (about 24 * 1.3 MPA), but the actual measured strength is tens of times lower than this value.

The structure of quartz is very relaxed, allowing ions of certain gases to diffuse through the network even at high temperatures, with sodium ions diffusing particularly fast. This property is particularly important for users.
