A radial bimetallic thermometer refers to the situation where the axis of the pointer's rotating shaft is perpendicular to the axis of the temperature-sensing element (protective tube) of the instrument.
Main Features and Advantages
Optimal Horizontal Visibility: This is its core advantage. When the instrument is installed on the side of a vertical pipe or equipment at a height similar to the observer's eye level, the reading can be easily and unobstructedly obtained without the need to tilt the head up or down. The comfort and convenience of reading are extremely high.
Space Saving: In situations with limited vertical space (such as the lower layer of a dense pipe gallery or between low equipment), the axial type may require the operator to squat or find an angle to see the dial, while the radial type dial is vertical and does not require space above.
Facilitates Dense Installation: When multiple temperature measurement points are installed side by side, the radial type dials are neatly arranged on the same vertical plane, making it easy to observe and compare them centrally, presenting a neat and orderly appearance.
Typical application scenarios:
Industrial pipelines (side installation): On the side of vertical or horizontal pipelines, used for prominent indication beside inspection channels.
Equipment panels/control cabinets: Integrated on machine panels, serving as local temperature display.
HVAC units: Side temperature indication for equipment such as chillers, air handling units, and fan coil units.
Side walls of reaction vessels/tanks: For indicating wall temperature or for insertion type measurement of internal temperature.
