Thermal Behavior:
Softens at 40°C, begins melting while retaining structural integrity.Discolors when heated above 85°C.
Solubility:
Insoluble in water; miscible with lipids, oils, and other waxes.
Soluble in chloroform, and heated ethanol.
Functional Advantages:
High plasticity, lubricity, moisture resistance, and electrical insulation.
Chinese beeswax, secreted by Apis cerana (Chinese honeybees), is a natural wax with a semi-solid consistency at room temperature. It appears in pale yellow, yellow, or dark brown hues, emitting a subtle aroma reminiscent of honey and pollen. Its texture is smooth, adhesive when chewed, and pliable under pressure.
