Advantages of LiFePO4 Batteries
Weight and Cycling
LiFePO4 batteries are between 1/3-1/4 the weight of traditional lead acid batteries. They also cycle up to more than 2000 times at 100% and 1C rate. However, its life cycles will be more if less than 100% DOD and less than 1C.
Efficiency and Full Cycle Capacity
Lead acid batteries' internal resistance requires them to be charged slowly and in stages to keep internal temperatures lower. While LiFePO4 batteries can be charged at a constant current and constant voltage, which allows them to be recharged quickly and put back into service when needed.
Very Little Wasted Energy
This can be especially important when charging via solar panels.
