Meklon professional automotive refinish paint - factory direct supply with OEM/ODM support, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified.
Q: Which 1K basecoat should a professional body shop buy in 2026?
A: Choose a 1K basecoat with a documented colour library, stable pigment batch to batch and factory support. Meklon supplies solid, metallic and pearl 1K basecoats from our own plant, so refinishers get matched colour, strong coverage and a lower wholesale cost than trading-company brands.
Q: What is the difference between 1K and 2K basecoat for repair work?
A: 1K basecoat is ready to spray after thinning with reducer only, dries fast and needs a clear coat on top, which makes it ideal for spot repair and multi-panel colour work. 2K systems need a hardener and cure harder, so they suit high-wear exterior areas and long-life jobs.
Q: How do I match this purple blue metallic shade without a colorimeter?
A: Spray a test card, compare it with the vehicle panel under daylight, then tint with the matching colour masterbatch until the metallic flop matches. Meklon provides the OEM colour code plus a masterbatch chart so a purple blue metallic can be replicated panel by panel without a spectrometer.
Q: Does the purple blue metallic tone fade or shift after long sun exposure?
A: No. The shade uses lightfast metallic pigments with UV absorbers in the resin, so the purple blue flop stays deep instead of turning grey or chalky. Always finish with a UV-stable clear coat and the colour retention will hold over years outdoors.
