DURAFIDE® PPS is a super engineering plastic known for its excellent resistance to heat and chemicals. Launched by Polyplastics as Japan's first production compound, it features a linear molecular structure supplied by Kureha Corporation.
This material maintains superior mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and fireproof properties while offering improved toughness compared to traditional PPS with better ability to withstand stretching and impacts.
Compared with cross-linked PPS, linear PPS (DURAFIDE®) offers:
Applications include automotive parts (lamp sockets, water pumps), HEV/EV PCU components, mechanical parts for office and AV equipment, and water-adjacent parts in water heaters and mixing valves. DURAFIDE's strength and heat resistance make it interchangeable with steel in many applications.
