Product Description
Teflon™ is a registered trademark of Chemours for its fluoropolymer resins. Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins are part of the family of fluorine-based products that also include Teflon™ FEP and Teflon™ PFA and Tefzel™ fluoropolymer resins. These materials offer a unique combination of mechanical, electrical, chemical, temperature, and friction resistance properties unmatched by any other material.
Commercial applications leveraging these valuable properties have established Teflon™ PTFE fluoropolymer resins as outstanding engineering materials for numerous industrial applications. These resins can also be compounded with fillers or reinforcing agents to modify performance characteristics.
PTFE 6C X is specifically designed for processing at medium to high reduction ratios of 250:1 to 2000:1. It is particularly suitable for production of wire coating, wire jacketing, and tubing at fast sintering rates.
PTFE 6C X meets the requirements of ASTM D4895-10, Type I, Grade 2, Class C.
Typical Applications
PTFE 6C X is primarily used for wire and cable insulation and thin-wall tubing applications such as spaghetti tubing.
