Xi'an Elite Electronic is a 2.92mm Female to 2.92mm Female in series adapter manufactured. This in series 2.92mm to 2.92mm coax adapter will operate up to 40GHz. Adapters that have a male to female or plug to jack configuration are known as "connector savers." Typically, a low loss or low VSWR male to female adapter is placed on more expensive component connectors to prevent damage. Bulkhead adapters and right angle adapters are also available.
The 2.92mm connector is a pin seat connector that uses an air filled interface to ensure modeless operation within 40GHz. It is also known as a K-connector. This connector is mechanically connected to 3.5mm and SMA connectors, but a discontinuity is introduced at the node, which must be considered. The 2.92mm connector has a shorter pin than the 3.5mm and SMA connectors, allowing the outer conductor to align before the pin meets the socket contact when mating the connector. Therefore, the connector is not easy to be damaged in industrial use.
