The MRI Shielded Door with Radiation Shielding Integration provides both RF shielding for MRI compatibility and ionizing radiation protection for hybrid imaging environments where both modalities are used. The door can be supplemented with code 5 lead shielding (equivalent to 2.5mm lead thickness) to provide protection from X-ray scatter in intra-operative MRI facilities, interventional MRI suites, or facilities where MRI and CT are co-located.
The lead shielding is integrated into the door construction during manufacturing, ensuring no compromise to either RF shielding or structural integrity. The door maintains the RF attenuation performance of 100 dB across the MRI frequency range while providing lead equivalency appropriate for the radiation source. This integrated design eliminates the need for separate radiation shielding doors, saving floor space and simplifying facility design.
The door is particularly suitable for hybrid operating rooms where MRI is used during surgical procedures that may also employ fluoroscopy. The door's sliding configuration provides a wide opening for patient transport between imaging modalities. The 304 stainless steel finish provides the corrosion resistance and easy-cleaning surface required in medical environments.
The factory's manufacturing process can be amended to accommodate the addition of lead shielding during production, ensuring structural integrity and proper integration with the RF shielding system. Quality control includes verification of both RF shielding performance and radiation shielding integrity.
