The JOVVI Acoustically Insulated MRI Window incorporates enhanced sound isolation features while maintaining the RF shielding performance required for MRI installations. The 5mm tempered glass and 8mm insulating hollow glass construction provides effective acoustic insulation, reducing the transmission of scanner noise from the MRI suite to the control room. This acoustic insulation improves the working environment for MRI technologists and reduces operator fatigue during long scanning sessions.
The window achieves 100–110 dB RF attenuation across 10 MHz to 130 MHz, compatible with all clinical MRI systems. The 98.5% transparency ensures clear patient observation, with the black-painted brass mesh reducing visual glare. The double-layer hollow glass design creates an effective sound barrier that complements the RF shielding function.
The acoustic insulation is particularly valuable in facilities where the control room shares space with other clinical activities, where technologists spend extended periods at the operator console, or where multiple imaging suites operate in proximity. The sound reduction also improves communication between control room and scanner room staff.
The window is available with wooden or aluminum alloy frames, both featuring copper plating for electrical continuity with the MRI room shielding system.
