LTP2030H is mainly used for compacting various flexible pavement materials. Steel Drum Roller

• Roller material: steel, which can be polished steel wheel, sheep's foot mill or bump steel wheel.
• Compaction Principle: Mainly rely on the weight of the steel wheel itself to carry out static compaction, kneading and vibration compaction of the material.
• Advantages:vHigh compaction density, especially suitable for cohesive soil, gravel and rock filling. Long service life and relatively low maintenance cost. Strong load-bearing capacity for heavy compaction work. Relatively low cost.
• Disadvantages: Poor compaction effect on flexible road surface, easy to produce cracks or push. Vibration effect on bridges and other structures, need to take damping measures. The operation difficulty is a little high, and the technical requirements for operators are high.
• Function: It is mainly used for compaction of infrastructure such as road base, embankment, airport runway, etc., as well as compaction of non-cohesive soil, gravel, rock and other materials. The sheep foot mill is especially suitable for compaction of cohesive soil.

Pneumatic Tire Roller

• Roller material: rubber tires.
• Compaction Principle: Mainly rely on the rubbing effect of the tires and air pressure to compact the material, which belongs to static compaction.
• Advantages: The compaction surface is smooth and will not damage the road structure. Strong adaptability to the compaction material, suitable for various types of asphalt mixture, stabilized soil, gravel, etc.. Fast traveling speed and high compaction efficiency. Simple operation, low technical requirements for operators. Produces less vibration and noise.
• Disadvantages: Compaction density is not as high as that of steel wheel roller. The compaction effect on high viscous soil is poor. The tires wear out faster and the maintenance cost is relatively high. Sensitive to temperature, easy to stick to the wheel at high temperature, and the rubber hardens at low temperature, which affects the compaction effect.
• Function: Mainly used for compaction of asphalt pavement, stabilized soil base, gravel pavement and other flexible road surfaces.

The choice of roller depends on the specific construction requirements and material characteristics. For foundation projects that require high compaction, steel wheel rollers are a better choice; while for flexible pavements that require high leveling, rubber wheel rollers are more suitable. Sometimes two types of rollers are also used in conjunction with each other, as needed, to achieve the best compaction results.
