Additives: Improve plasticity, resistance to subsidence, pollution, and color fading. Anti-skid aggregates can be added for better traction.
Application Process
Heating: The powder paint is heated in a hot melt kettle to ~200°C (392°F) to liquefy it.
Application: Applied via spray, extrusion, or screed using specialized road marking machines. Thickness ranges from 90-120 mils depending on specifications.
Cooling: Sets within minutes, forming a thick, durable polymer layer. Glass beads are often added during application to enhance reflectivity and skid resistance.
Surface Preparation: The road surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease or debris. A primer is required for old tarmac, block paving, or concrete, but not for new tarmac
